How the Center Works the Services it Provides
The Resource Center was created to help you and your family to identify resources and information important to your immediate well being and recovery from cancer.
Our Lending Library offers a variety of titles, reading materials , and internet acess selected to address the needs you are experiencing now.
- Books and videos about cancer that you can take home to review at your own pace
- Free booklets and pamphlets on different cancers
- On-line computer access for researching cancer and related topics
The Cancer Awareness Series is offered to provide you with the Latest information on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment in easy-to-understand terms with lots of time for questions.
Focus on your needs: Although we do not serve as professional counselors, our volunteer staff will take time to listen, understand and help you determine your need for information.
Support and Education: Through our link with the We Care Cancer Support Group, we can put you in touch with people who have successfully fought cancer. These wonderful people serve as both lay mentors and compassionate friends who have "been there."
Community Involvement: We plan to offer monthly cancer topics by local and regional speakers with cancer expertise. Volunteer and donation materials are available by calling 231 592-4409.
To use the center: Just stop by at 705 Oak St. from 2-5 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday beginning October 30. Friends and family members are welcome.
