Press Release

For Immediate Release: Myers Family Helps Wheatlake Center
Three generations of the Myers family delivered the proceeds from their annual Fred Myers Memorial Golf Outing to the Mecosta County Community Foundation Match Day. They designated the funds to support the newly established Hall and Hall Men’s Cancer and Wellness Endowment at the Mecosta County Medical Center Foundation and the gas card program for patients receiving assistance from the Wheatlake Center for Cancer and Wellness. Fred Myers Sr., who passed away from cancer in 1999, was the owner of Fred Myers Excavating and left a legacy of caring for others and in making certain that friends and neighbors had what they needed as they battled cancer.
“We are grateful for the generosity of the Myers family,” said Susan Wheatlake. “The Hall and Hall Endowment will provide support for the cancer and wellness needs of men and their families.” She continued, “Support for our gas card program will help those who need assistance with the cost of transportation to medical appointments and treatments.”
